Hello parents and students! I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your child for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year.
My name is Mr. Sean Brandlin and I am the 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher at St. Jerome School in Westchester, CA. In addition to being the 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher, I will also be teaching Junior High Math as well as 6th and 8th Grade Religion.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in May of 2006 and I received my teaching credential in June of 2010. While completing the teacher preparation program at CSULB, I was employed as a substitute teacher for several different school districts throughout Los Angeles County. This is where I realized my love for teaching and desire to work with kids.
I was very fortunate during the 2010-2011 school year to fill in as a long-term substitute teacher at St. Jerome for Mrs. Marianne Dyogi, the 7th Grade Homeroom Teacher. I truly enjoyed teaching Math to the Junior High students as well as being the Religion teacher for the 6th and 7th Grade students. The most rewarding part of my teaching has been the connections I have developed with students.
With the Math workshops I have attended, I look forward to implementing effective strategies to help students learn the foundations and fundamentals of Mathematical concepts. I will also be working hard to build community awareness and motivate students to get involved in their communities.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to return to St. Jerome for the 2011-2012 school year. I welcome any questions that you may have and am looking forward to a wonderful year!
Sincerely,
Mr. Brandlin
